J. Lynn Helms Sevier County Airport

The J. Lynn Helms Sevier County Airport is located 3 miles west of De Queen, Ark, on U.S. Hwy. 70. The airport is named in honor of J. Lynn Helms, a Sevier County native who served as administrator of the Federal Aviation Administration from 1981 to 1984 during the Ronald Reagan administration.

The airport is owned by Sevier County and is administered by a volunteer board. The asphalt runway is 75 feet wide and 5,001 feet long, making it one of the larger runways in southwest Arkansas.  Currently there are 2 non-precision approaches, NDB and GPS.  Both are for runway 8.  It is open for public use and fuel is available on a self-serve basis with a major credit card.

A parallel taxiway is complete on the west end of the airport. Construction is underway for a parallel taxiway on the east end.
